Crowbar To My Heart

from The Lost Stone Catcherye Tapes by Keep The Fear

/

about

"Diane, this song title came up quite literally for me one night. I was in the barn trying to find a broom, long story, but I had tripped over said broom and caught myself on my forearms just inches before hitting the ground, where a crowbar just happen to be laying, and just barely cut the skin over my heart area. I made have had a bad night if I didn't have my forearms out.

Then I got to thinking, what would each of the other guys come up with if they had to use the word 'crowbar' in a song? Well, Cooper, his song would be called 'I'm The Crowbar of The Law' which isn't a lie. It'd be a super heavy metal tune. D3 might come up with, 'To Hell With A Screwdriver, Pour Me A Crowbar!' to which I also concur. It would be a jazzy instrumental number that packed a punch, if you can dig. Phillip would definitely write an avant garde pop tune and call is something like 'Crowbar Suitcase' which would have a wide slew of synths and sound bytes along with him singing some catchy as hell chorus somewhere in it, as he always does.

Cheers Diane, this crowbar's for you."

lyrics

CROWBAR TO MY HEART

you'd have to take a crowbar
to get in my heart
you'd have to rip my scarred heart
all apart

you're not yourself
in front of everyone else

all hail your mystic garden
force fed your sour grapes

crowbar or key
no one gets the best of me
so far, I'm free
but not for long with this heart

you'd have to take a crowbar
to get in my heart

you're not yourself
in front of everyone else

all hail your floating carpet
I'm friends with Gravity

crowbar or key
no one gets the best of me
so far, I'm free
but not for long with this heart

all hail mythical creatures
monsters with which to see

crowbar or key
so far
