about

This was our 8th week of residency at One Eyed Jack's Open Mic Night. Our eighth song is now one of my faves. "Emerald & Jade" - don't ask me, ask Stoney, but I love this one because I got to rock the heck out on my keys with a solo. Stoney kept called me Darren Rogers Nelson. or D3 Hancock. Long story. I think Stoney may have had too much of something that was more green than emerald OR jade. ;P Everybody had a good time this week with this bit of rock / 80's fusion. ? Not sure what it was, but when we all leave smiling and no one's gotten into a bar fight, life is good. Diane, Coop's percentages about bar fights are usually right on the money, as are the causes he's presented us. He has one flaw however, his methods of handling said bar fights never quite work out as planned. Diane, Coop has a sneaky left jab though. A few weeks left of this Open mic residency Diane, but it's been really fun. Ta Ta.

lyrics

Emerald & Jade

in my time, rewind
in your head
words are dead
colors heal
anger steals

Emerald was kind then
Jade was to be
I lost to pining

if what you're selling me is
all of you
I'll color it green, now,
but my best friends are blue

in my way, in my day
in my life
in my mind
colors blind
yours, not mine
colors shine

Emerald was kind then
Jade was to be
I lost to pining
I'm lost in Green

if what you're selling me is
all of you
I'll color it green
but my best friends are blue

if what you're selling me is
all of you
I'll color it green, now,
but my best friends are blue

*****D3*****

and you've failed
your hearts are pale
your taste is stale
your colors trail

and you're alone
in your thoughts that
all your colors shine

and you've failed
your hearts are pale
your taste is stale
your colors trail

and you're alone
in your thoughts that
all your colors shine
