"Diane, a somewhat slightly charred Phillip Jeffries here.
The four of us have been holed up in a cabin studio of undisclosed location for a while, and Autumn is upon us. Let's just say that I'm a city boy and not used to using a fireplace for heat. And it's a good thing I'm currently keeping my hair short.
Anyway, my little "accident" had Coop laughing pretty hard, then he started up this badass beat, and we all fell in line. It started with D3 and I, First I started jamming a fuzz bass line that he doubled with a mono synth - and next thing you know, Stoney has a whole song written. He goaded D3 to do some backing vocals, and He compromised by heavily effecting his voice. Stoney thinks he sounds like like the Devil.
I'm off for some burn cream now, I will report back when we get more recorded. And I really should stop smoking.

lyrics
*** Fire Is The Devil (Hiding Like A Coward In The Smoke) ***
crescendo, an endo, you're not like me my friend-o
a message to send, oh, I've written more than you know
it's special, to just know, I have somewhere to go though
a failure, like Pluto, I just want my flame to be known
descent for a mountain
descent for a sea
oh, the land I waste,
when I am on fire
oh, the lambs waste,
when I am on fire
pretend, oh, you're neutral, laugh because you know my kind-o
it's simple, it's crucial, I need more time than most do
I cancel, I'm frugal, I drink more beer than wine-os
descent for a mountain
descent for a sea
the scent of destruction
is killing me
oh, the land I waste,
when I am on fire
oh, the lambs waste,
when I am on fire
descend low, go below, you have a friend who's helpful
I'm smoke-ful, then thoughtful, I'll have you over often
unsocial, I go through, more inside this thick old skull
I know though, I'm with you, you have a friend to help you
descent for a mountain
descent for the sea
decent for me
oh, the land I waste,
when I am on fire
oh, the lambs waste,
when I am on fire
